On Sunday, April 17 Excelsior Academy students attended the Habitat for Humanity Walk for housing. At the event, we were separated into groups and helped to clean Grand Street. We removed garbage from sidewalks, the streets, under cars, etc. After the event, we had a BBQ.
Excelsior Academy robotics club assisted with a mini maker space event at Newburgh Free Library. We brought along our robot, The Rothmanator, as well as five Arduino kits. Some of the Arduinos were programmed to do things like control servos, the others were left open so the public could come in and try making something on their own. We had a great time and can’t wait until the next one.

Our students were so concerned about the presence of modern day slavery in this world that decided to do something about it. They hosted a slavery awareness fair and made a website to try to spread the word. Check the website out at quitslavery.com
