Danille Jager has worked in education since 2006. First, she taught English in various special education class settings in the Bronx, Manhattan and Miami for seven years. Upon returning from Florida in 2013, she worked at an education non-profit company, PENCIL, and oversaw 20+ partnerships between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) teams and schools throughout the five boroughs in New York City. Through her work at PENCIL, she led a variety of mentoring and internship programs and guided corporate volunteer teams to teach professional skills workshops to high schoolers, preparing them for college and career. It was through this work that Ms. Jager became interested in CSR. After having her two sons, Ms. Jager was excited to learn that IBM had a role in a school much closer to home with opportunities to work hand in hand with students and IBMers for mentoring, internships and workplace learning skills. Newburgh Free Academy P-TECH is the best school Ms. Jager has ever worked in and she loves collaborating with the teachers and staff, and enjoys seeing the scholars grow, most of all. She is extremely thankful for the network of IBMers who are mentors, intern supervisors, and apprenticeship managers for our scholars and graduates. Ms. Jager’s motto is #childrenareourfuture and she looks forward to seeing the NFA P-TECH scholars continue to succeed day to day and in the years ahead.
