I began teaching in 2003 at Newburgh Free Academy and joined Newburgh Free Academy P-TECH as the founding science teacher in 2014, after serving as Lead Teacher for the science department. As a graduate of Newburgh and someone who loves the outdoors, my desire to teach NFA students about the environment and what they can do to protect it comes naturally to me.
One of my favorite experiences was exploring the volcanos in Hawaii and recognizing how the islands are still expanding. It is amazing to see how the contrasting ecosystems are situated right next to one another; on the same island there exists a lush, green paradise in one section and flowing lava beds in another.
In addition to teaching and learning, I love to hike, bike, swim, run, and spend time with my family, both in New York and Florida, where my second home and favorite beach are.
